Don’t Forget! The Virtual 8^th Grade Celebration is Wednesday, June 8, 2023 at 6:00PM on Teams

Eighth grade students and families are invited to Join us for the 8^th Grade Celebration next Wednesday, June 8^th at 6:00pm via Teams. We will celebrate our 8^th graders with talent acts submitted by 8th grade students, a message from Ms. Blackburn (our staff speaker this year), ASB student speakers and a baby photo slideshow. This event will be approximately 45 minutes long. The video viewing link will be available afterward, for all families, including those who are unable to attend.

8th Grade Fun Day, Wednesday, June 15th

The long-awaited 8^th Grade Fun Day is Wednesday, June 15^th from 11:00 -1:25pm. Fun Day will take place during the school day (after lunch), and 8^th grade students will be released to go home at the normal Wednesday dismissal time.

On Fun Day, students will have the opportunity to participate in inflatable games. All students MUST HAVE a completed INFLATABLE PERMISSION FORM to participate. This year, the permission form is electronic.

Students with permission forms completed by 10pm, June 14^th will receive their inflatable wristbands before Fun Day. Students who have their permission form completed after 10pm on June 14^th may have to wait in a line on Fun Day to pick up their inflatable wristband. Students without a permission form will not be allowed to use the inflatables.

Fun Day will include an inflatable obstacle course, a Ninja Light Battle (inflatable), 9-hole mini golf course, yard games (Can Jam, Cornhole, Spike Ball), a photo station and snacks provided by the PTSA, memory book/yearbook signing, sidewalk chalk, and the Sugar + Spoon truck will be on site to provide each student with a scoop of edible cookie dough and a scoop of ice cream (there are gluten free, dairy free and vegan options).  All inflatables and the treat truck are provided by ASB. To help with the cost of Fun Day, we are asking that families, who are able, pay a $10.00 suggested donation through the school online payment system. To pay the suggested donation, follow these steps:   

1. Sign into the payment system. This can be found at: https://payments.lwsd.org/
2. Select your student’s account by clicking on their name under “Who are you shopping for?”
3. Select “Items at Student’s school”.
4. Select “8^th Grade Celebration”.
5. Select “8^th Grade Fun Day Donation”. And enter the amount you wish to donate. Then click “Buy” and enter the necessary information to complete the purchase.

6. We are also looking for 20 PTSA district approved volunteers to help us with supervision on Fun Day. Volunteer time is 10:30am-2:00pm for setup, general supervision and clean up.    *Students and parent volunteers should come prepared for the weather, as we are planning to be outside for the entire time.
