BEAUTY AND THE BEAST live on stage

Friday, March 24 at 7pm and Saturday, March 25, at 2pm 

at Redmond High School's Performing Arts Center.  EMS PTSA & Studio East present Beauty and the Beast Jr

Purchase your tickets HERE for $10 now through this Thursday, March 23. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door on the day of performance, cash only.  Concessions and actors gifts will also be sold before and after the show, and during intermission for cash only. 

We hope you will come support our student actors who've been hard at work these past several weeks.  Enjoy the show!

Evergreen Mathletes Advance to 'Math Is Cool' Masters

Math Is CoolOur Evergreen mathletes performed well at the Seattle Regional Math is Cool Grades 6-8 Championship. Our Grade 6 team took second place in the team competition. Siddhant Lodha ranked first individually in Grade 7.

The Grade 6 and Grade 7 teams are invited to the Masters on April 29. The top four students of the individual contests in each grade will represent EMS.

  • Team G6: Anthony Cao, Shivam Chowdhary, Saamik Agrawal & Reyansh Rastogi
  • Team G7: Siddhant Lodha, Vihaan Dev, Aaryav Seth & Aditya Patnaik (Aditya will not be available on the competition day. The fifth top student, Rishikesh Alladi, will be on the team.)

Congratulations, Science Olympiad Club!

Evergreen Middle School PTSA is excited to share that our Science Olympiad Club placed third overall at the Washington Science Olympiad Northwest Regional Tournament held at Redmond High School on March 4! A total of 29 EMS students participated at regionals—congratulations to all of them!

EMS Team One earned a ranking of fourth place and are advancing to the state tournament in April! Congratulations and best wishes to: Inchara Aradhya, Anushka Dabke, Arav Dhawan, Raunak Dinesh, Kavyashree Karunagaran, Isa Khan, Pratham Koka, Siddhant Marda, Yash Nagarahalli, Mihir Pachava, Reyansh Rastogi, Aayush Shah, Aishwarya Sreenivas, Serena Tang and Neal Kedia.


7 EMS Robotics Teams Advance to World Championship

Of the 10 qualifying EMS PTSA Robotics Club teams who competed at the 2023 Washington Middle School VIQC State Championship this past weekend, seven moved on to the VEX Robotics World Championship! Congratulations to these teams:

  • 47X: Gaurav Godse, Andy Wang & Sam Ezhilarasan — Teamwork Champions
  • 47T: Aaptha Bhat, Madhav Ganapathyrama & York Xia — Robot Skills Champions; Teamwork 4th Place
  • 47J: Siyona Kane, Anika Bhadra, Akshara Kundojjala & Sushruth Kanumuri — Teamwork 5th Place
  • 47E: Ishaan Agarwal, Neel Nevrekar & Bhargar Narayan — Build Award
  • 47R: Emily He, Aashi Gupta & Ananya Akurathi — Amaze Award
  • 47C: Nick Tsai, Garvit Arora, Yufei Ye & Medhansh Kar — Skills Ranking Qualifier
  • 47W: Eric Huang, Runqi Zhang, Jayden Qi & Bowen Zhu — Skills Ranking Qualifier

The 2023 World Championship will take place in Dallas, Texas, from April 30 to May 2. The VEX Robotics Competition fosters students' development of teamwork, collaboration, critical thinking, project management and communication skills to prepare them to become the next generation of innovators and problem solvers.

Thanks for Helping Us Achieve 100% Staff Membership!

EMS PTSA's board of directors is pleased to share that our PTSA has received a 100% Staff Membership Award from Washington State PTA for the 2022-23 year! This award is presented to PTAs/PTSAs that enroll at least as many school staff members as there are full-time certificated employees at the school.

THANK YOU to the Evergreen staff who joined us as PTSA members this year, and many thanks also to those of our members who donated staff memberships! This achievement reflects the value of teachers and school staff as stakeholders advocating for all children through PTSA membership.


Congratulations to Our WSPTA Reflections Award Winner!

Evergreen Middle School's own Ankita Datta has received the Award of Excellence in the middle school division of the Reflections art program at the statewide level! Ankita's original film, "A Silent Soul," was selected for this honor after advancing from Evergreen's Reflections competition to the district-level Lake Washington PTSA Council round, where her entry was among the 60 winning selections that moved on to Washington State PTA judging. Congratulations, Ankita!

Are you looking for a way to get your kids out in nature and get some exercise while also helping our local parks stay healthy and green? If so, check out these volunteer planting events in Redmond in March!

March 25 (9 am to Noon)

Join volunteers at scenic Farrel-McWhirter Park for an invigorating morning of removing invasive plants! Register here.

March 25 (10 am to Noon)

Volunteers at Perrigo Community Park will take advantage of the wet, spring ground to remove invasive blackberry in preparation for planting new trees later in the year. Register here.

Learn all about home recycling and composting at the next event in the City of Redmond's Sustainable Living series:
