Safety is our #1 Priority!

Hello Eagle Families!

This is a reminder to everyone that drives to and from Evergreen Middle School to please slow down and pay attention to other drivers and pedestrians, especially our middle schoolers walking to and from school.

We had an incident last week in which one of our students was almost struck by a car trying to enter the parking lot because the car did not yield to the cyclist in the crosswalk. Luckily, she is ok, but shaken up, nonetheless.

We understand that the traffic at EMS can be frustrating, but we must ensure the safety of our students first and foremost. We urge all drivers to be courteous to others and SLOW DOWN.

We also encourage all students who are eligible to take the bus to do so, in order to limit the number of cars driving to and from Evergreen.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Advocacy Alert: Community Meeting

On Feb. 29, 5:30pm!

Photo from @LakeWashSchools on Twitter on LakeWashSchools at 2/9/24 at 8:24AM

LWSD is exploring the idea of rebuilding Alcott Elementary in a new location near the Redmond Costco. This may in turn affect attendance boundaries of Dickinson Elementary and Einstein Elementary, as well as bus routes, and could also enable enlarging Tesla STEM.

LWSD has scheduled a community meeting on February 29, 5:30 pm at Alcott Elementary to further explore this concept. Please attend if you want to learn more or give feedback!

If more information is desired before the meeting, please see this recording of the Feb. 5 LWSD school board study session.

There's Still Time to...

Pass The Hat

The Fundraiser is still open, so if you have not yet had a chance to donate, we would really appreciate it.

The majority of PTSA donations go to support school, student and family engagement, which includes things like classroom grants, teacher stipends (for Eagle Time Planning), scholarships/InvestEd, student planners, WEB leadership, Emergency Prep, Family and Community Engagement, 8th Grade Celebration, advocacy and so much more!
