What does Sustainability mean?
Sustainability - it can sometimes feel like a buzz word that gets used everywhere. Products are sustainable, Services are sustainable, buildings are sustainable - some places where the word is used have nothing to do with sustainable development. This phenomenon is known as greenwashing. So, while we (EMS PTSA) can't claim to know it all, we can try to help gather and share facts.
What does sustainability actually mean?
The United Nations (UN)1 defines Sustainability as meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. In 2015, the UN adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)2 as a call for action by all countries to promote prosperity while protecting the planet. But how does this translate to your family's everyday life?
Imagine a world where the products you use, the services you rely on, and the buildings you live in are all designed with the future in mind. This means healthier living environments, better quality products, and a more secure future for our children and future generations.

Time to reflect
Which goal speaks the most to you and is there something small (or big) your family can do today to help us get closer?
