What’s Going on at Evergreen Jr. High?

How to Keep Informed on School Events

Every parent wants to be kept abreast of events at Evergreen Jr. High in a timely, concise manner without adding to the household paper clutter.  The Evergreen PTSA has set up ways for parents to get school information during the school year using the internet.

These are the primary methods for parents to receive school information:

-          School Web Sites

-          Email Updates via Parent Organizer

-          School Newsletters – The Eagle

Printed copies of information for those parents without regular access to the internet will be made available outside the office every week. Contact the school office if you need paper copies sent home with your child.

1. School Web Sites

These are the web sites for school information:

http://www.EvergreenPTSA.org - This web site contains the school calendar, forms, newsletters, and information on the various PTSA committees.  Information is updated regularly, so surf this site often!

http://schools.lwsd.org/EJH/ - Teacher web sites and library information are available here.

http://www.lkwash.wednet.edu/ - The Lake Washington School District web site contains everything you wanted to know about the WASL, the district budget and other district information.

2. Email Updates via Parent Organizer

Have you ever been caught off guard when a school event or holiday pops up?  Evergreen parents can receive email updates on events and holidays using a communication tool called Parent Organizer.  This communication tool is used by many other schools in the district to help keep parents informed of volunteer opportunities, important school dates and school related information.

Sign Up for Parent Organizer!

Now, I’m sure you’re thinking, “How do I sign up for this wonderful service called Parent Organizer?”  There are a number of ways to sign up:

Online Signup: Surf out to http://ParentOrganizer.com and click on the button “Are you a parent who’d like to register?”  Follow the easy steps to sign up in 15 minutes.  If you have kids attending other schools, you can sign them up too!  Make sure you complete both the parent and child sections of the sign up.

Paper Signup:  You can fill out a paper form with all the information necessary for Parent Organizer and one of our enthusiastic volunteers will sign you up.  The paper form can be found in the Evergreen office and in the packet of information sent to you at the beginning of the year.  Return this form to the school office or in your child’s homework packet.

Submitting Information to Parent Organizer

If you’re volunteering in a PTSA committee and you would like to submit information to Parent Organizer, there are a simple set of steps to submit your information.  The submission steps can be found on the Evergreen PTSA web site at http://www.EvergreenPTSA.org/parentorganizer.htm

3. School Newsletters – The Eagle

The school newsletter (The Eagle) is published several times during the school year with information on upcoming events and recent activities.  The newsletter is sent home with the kids and is also available on the Evergreen PTSA web site (http://www.evergreenptsa.org/newsletter.htm).
