Environmental
Club
The
mission of the Environmental Club is to help our school be
“greener” and to learn ways to reduce our impact on the
environment.
We will
be participating in a program called Cool Schools. Cool
Schools challenges the classrooms to reduce their carbon
output by 2000 pounds. The Environmental Club will be the
student leaders who help set up the program, monitor, and
evaluate. We will be responsible for collecting and
measuring the recycling.
I would
also like to explore composting the food waste here at
school. We will learn the science related to these issues,
as well.
We will
meet after school each Thursday from 2:30 until 4:00.
Students will be able to ride the bus for homework club. Our
first meeting will be Thursday, Nov. 29 (the first Thursday
after Thanksgiving).
