Overview

Since Evergreen is starting the year with remote learning, we are not sure which competitions students will be able to participate in.  Students who are interested in Math Club should register on this webpage.  This will add them to the Math Club email list and allow them to receive updates about competitions and club coaching sessions.

Math Club updates will be sent to the email addresses listed in your account.  PLEASE VERIFY that your PTSA account details are up-to-date.

How Math Team Works

The focus of the Evergreen PTSA Math Club is to help students prepare for and participate in math competitions. Students may compete as individuals or/and as members of a team. Parents or volunteers register students for these competitions and help coordinate teams. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from the in-person competitions and for meals during the in-person competitions.

Changes for 2020-2021:

  1. MathCounts:  MathCounts is entirely online this year and there will be no team competition.  Evergreen will _not_ register a school team.  Evergreen students who wish to participate in MathCounts should have their parents register them directly as a “non-school competitor” at https://www.mathcounts.org/register-mathcounts-competition-series.  The early bird registration fee (by October 1) is $60.  Regular registration (by December 1) is $65.
  2. AMC 8:  AMC 8 has an online option this year.  Math Club members will receive details via email on how to sign up for the online test.  Please do NOT try to register yourself on the AMC website.  The registration fee will be covered by last year’s Math Team funds.
  3. Math Is Cool and the Washington State Math Championship in Blaine have not yet provided any information about this year’s competitions.  As we receive more information, updates will be sent to Math Club members.  Registration fees for these competitions will be collected by parent volunteers separately in the future.
